description A half-length portrait line drawing of a young girl, seen in three quarter face view and holding with both hands a bun which she regards with a serious expression. This is one of a number of vivid, pen-and-ink sketches of children, observed in Whitechapel, comparable to Joan Eardley's portraits of the latchkey kids in the Townhead area of Glasgow.
