description A three-quarter length portrait study of a bride and groom at their wedding reception: with the bride in profile facing left and the groom in three quarter face view, his face turned towards the right, as symbolically, he rests his hand upon hers and together they cut the three-tiered wedding cake. The drawing is a study for the oil of the same title.
